How it works
Entirely flexible to the unique needs of your organization
No matter which OS or device mix your environment supports, and whether your strategy is primarily on-premise or in the cloud, you’ll be able to deploy it exactly in the way that suits you. The solution is comprised of several key components, all of which are simple to setup and configure – meaning you’ll be up to speed in a matter of minutes, not days. NetMotion is available in the cloud, as a service or on-premise.
NetMotion app
A lightweight agent is installed on each device. This is available via the app stores and can be deployed through a variety of simple methods, such as by using a UEM/EMM solution. This client acts as a sensor, gathering rich data on the device itself and the networks it connects to. It also acts as a context-aware controller for the NetMotion SDP solution, applying policy actions to every device at the endpoint.
NetMotion tunnel
Depending on the use-case, IT teams may wish to use the VPN, or tunnel traffic as part of the NetMotion SDP solution. This tunnel is unlike any you may know, and can be configured as always-on, per-app or on a contextual basis. Using a blend of different patented technologies, connections are enhanced – including improved video and audio, prioritization of mission-critical apps and both tunnel and session persistence, meaning networks stay resilient even during roaming or total disconnects.
NetMotion gateway
The NetMotion controller may allow traffic to go straight to the resource or web destination. In some instances, such as during poor or insecure network conditions, or when accessing enterprise resources, traffic is securely sent to the NetMotion gateway. This gateway manages access to all destinations, including enterprise resources. Access is limited to only the resource the user needs, preventing lateral movement. The gateway keeps applications ‘dark’, unavailable to anyone but those that have been approved.
NetMotion console
Admins have access to a central orchestration console for applying security and access policy. Here, devices and users can be managed in a single location. Tools allow the IT department to group by user, location, department, role and more – integrated with Active Directory or Azure AD if desired.
NetMotion dashboards
All NetMotion Complete customers can take advantage of Mobile IQ, a single place for all of your data and analysis. Here, admins can generate detailed reports to understand more about their remote workers, including information on devices, security, user activity, network performance, diagnostics, experience and more.
The most helpful feature NetMotion provides is the in depth support. There is no network environment or project too unique. NetMotion provides clear, concise step by step instructions, and even goes as far as to offer support during transition/upgrade.
