As part of our ongoing “Women of NetMotion” series it’s our great pleasure to introduce our very own thunder from down under, Jojo Ye.
A sales and channel superstar, Jojo is a genuine firecracker who instantly lights up a room with her enormous personality. Having been with NetMotion for almost a year, she has already had a huge impact on the sales team in Australia, where she has lived and worked for the last 15 years.
As the channel & sales development manager for the South East Asia region, which includes Australia and New Zealand, Jojo has a vast territory to look after. She works with both existing and new channel partners, including Australia’s telecom giant, Telstra, and other telecommunication companies, distributors, resellers, systems integrators, MSPs and industry ecosystem alliance partners.
Born and raised in China, Jojo studied advertising and marketing at the University of Canberra before moving to Sydney. Since then, she has held several positions covering the Australia and New Zealand markets for multi-national companies like LiveAction, MobileIron and Return Path.

We recently caught up with Jojo to ask her about her role and why she chose NetMotion.
“I love the people I work with. One of the biggest reasons for joining the team was thanks to my prior experience with Daniel Pratt, who is now the country manager for NetMotion here in Australia. This may sound boring, but I was also impressed by NetMotion’s high customer retention rate and NPS. I am convinced there’s no limit to how big NetMotion can become in this region.
Setting up for success
Having to develop new markets can certainly be difficult. For Jojo, however, this has been a welcome challenge.

She elaborates further on this point, sharing that she relishes being able to tailor messaging to suit the individual needs of every organization she approaches. Constantly talking to prospects and reaching out to new companies is a key part of the position, meaning she’s on the phone most of the day.
It’s a role that comes with its fair share of stress too, of course. Jojo reveals that on some days she gets sick of hearing ‘no’ too many times, occasionally inspiring a frustrated impulse of two. “There are times I just want to throw my phone to the ground! I’m just kidding (not kidding), of course. But then I realize that rejection comes with the territory – and I remind myself that we’ve got to deliver really clear value to make it as a challenger brand in this market.”
Jojo is clear that overall she loves her job, sharing that she “can’t describe how happy and excited I get when a prospect wants more information about NetMotion or asks how to move forward with a POC.”
To finish, Jojo reveals that she has all kinds of role models, but one stands out as a little unconventional – an unmistakable hallmark of Jojo’s personality.
